Birthdays galore!

Willow had her birthday party last weekend - these are the photos. I’ve cropped them to remove other people’s children.

The cake! It took me about 4 hours in total to decorate, from making the little fondant flowers to the butter cream icing.

Dexie enjoying some cake!

More sewing!

So, I’ve been doing more sewing…
This is Willow’s pencil case. I’m not entirely happy with it, but she is, so that’s what matters.

Sewing with pliers. I found this Amy Butler pattern for a cute pincushion and thought I’d make it with some scraps of her fabric. I think it turned […]

Let them eat cake!

While I’m on a posting spree, I thought I’d share this: Tomorrow, some friends are coming over, as a mutual friend is visiting from Sydney. It was my turn to host, so I’ve semi-hijacked it for Dexie’s birthday. I think there will be about 10 children here, so it will be like […]

reusable snack bags

We seem to go through plastic snack bags by the boxful with 3 of us taking a packed lunch to work/school/FDC. I hate the waste that they create, so I’ve been looking at the option of reusuable snack bags - like these ones. Of course, the success of these things depends on a […]

Dexter at 19 months.

He is incredibly cute. The evidence:
* He is learning to jump. So far, he has the upward thrust happening, but he hasn’t quite learnt to lift his feet off the ground.
* He has some words that we can understand. Mostly obvious ones like book, Bear (the dog) biscuit, Dad, Mum, Wi (for […]
