More pain!

The day started out so nicely. Dexie and I pottered around at home, doing the dishes and the washing. I dropped him off at FDC, where the FDCarer gave me a pandan chicken parcel for lunch – yum! I often joke with my friend who also sends her daughter there, that we should pay her extra so that she can provide us with a meal to take home on those nights that you just don’t feel like cooking.

Then I went to the shops near A’s work and bought him one of his favourite drinks and a cheese and bacon roll for lunch. I’d bought some the night before, but one of the cats thought they’d make a good midnight snack. It was nice to see him in the middle of the day.

After that it was the gym, treadmill, bike and crosstrainer, nothing exciting. I thought I was too late for yoga, but they put it back half an hour – there were too many people in the studio in the end. I haven’t been for awhile, so I took it easy.

Then on to uni, where I was supposed to be studying for the upcoming exam. While I was there I ran into the husband of a friend. He’s doing his Masters in Social Work now, so we had a bit of a chat about that.

Yesterday I enrolled in the three subjects that I need to do next semester. Kind of good to have it in writing. They are very social worky type subjects – the plan is to start on a bit of reading over the semester break, but I’ll see how I go. Plus I need to do the paperwork for my placement. I was considering doing the Masters of Mental Health, but I’ll need to be able to do it externally and I’m not sure if it is offered externally. Of course I need to finish this degree first! Plus I think I need to practice as a Social Worker for two years first, but I’m afraid of losing the momentum of studying. What if I stop – finally – and can’t get back into it?

One of my back teeth had fractured, so I had a dental appointment at 3.45pm. I was hopeful that she could save it, but she said that the crack was too deep – right own to the gum. No wonder it had been hurting so much! So I ended up having the tooth taken out in the chair. Not really what I was prepared for, but if it meant I could eat without pain…

Afterwards I picked up Dexie, picked up A and Willow, then drove to a nearby shopping centre. I didn’t want to go in with a numb, drooly mouth, so A and Willow did the shopping. Before, A went into the service station and bought a carwash ticket, so Dexie and I went through the carwash while we were waiting for them. A was lovely and made me custard and soup for dinner.

As a side note, two of the playgrounds that I have been taking Willow to since she was a baby, and Dexie of course, have been demolished and new ones are being built. I guess it is the end of the financial year and councils have to spend their budgeted money, but it is a bit sad.

Another aside, my blood pressure is sitting at around 140/110-105. That’s with me taking 8mg of Coversyl daily. Can I please just have a whole new body?
