I have to admit that I’m not a spiritual or religious person. The historical and architectural aspects of religion interest me and I have a limited knowledge of spiritual matters. At this point in my life though, I’d rather concentrate on the here and now, the tangible aspects of life. What happened this morning totally [...]

I forgot to add in my last entry that I went out on Saturday night. A group of friends and I had been talking about catching up for ages, and we finally settled on a date and a place. We thought we’d try a new Vietnamese restaurant called Sugar Cane. The food was delicious and [...]

Ok, so funnest isn’t a real word, but you get the idea. On Saturday morning, we were woken up at 6am by a barking cough from Willow. I imagined that it was Whooping Cough, which I suspect I had at the end of last year. Her temperature was 40.1C, so I got some panadol into [...]

Since then, I’ve spoken to my friends (some with children and some without children) and A – I’ve come to the conclusion (finally! you might be thinking) that I need to relax and accept Willow for the gorgeous, unique [...]

So, for the little heart quilt, I’d bought some pink, silky variegated thread. I was certain that I’d put it down on my sewing table, but when I went to use it, it was nowhere to be seen. So, I started sorting through my stash, reorganising it and finding new things. Now I have all [...]

This is the little quilt I’m working on. First, the appliqued hearts. Then the actual quilting. The quilt uses a calico backing, and I had plenty of scraps for the hearts. It’s based on an quilt in the February 2010 Get Creative magazine.
