Stash Buster!
As I alluded in my previous post, much of my fabric stash is from my mum. A lot of it is on the daggy 80s spectrum, but there are quite a few nice fabrics in there too. With Willow’s help (for about 3 minutes until she got bored) I filled up a green shopping bag of scraps for her Prep art and craft classes. It barely made a dent!
Edited to add:
The problems with having Mum’s stash.
One. I don’t know always know what is in it – every time I go through it, I find new stuff.
Two. I’m using it up! Some of the less common colours of cotton, like a beautiful silky multicoloured pastel are running out.
Three. Every now and then I find an unfinished project.
Four. Some of it is very, very daggy. Good for pyjama pants perhaps.
Five. Most of it is smaller lengths, between 20cm and 50cm.

I took scraps up to school last week too. I am such a scrap hoarder though, it’s hard to get rid of them.

I know that you feel the fabric is a link to your mum, but I know that she would be so happy to know you are using it! What else is it for!!
If it runs out, its ok – you have made some beautiful things, Willow has had fun playing with her grandmothers fabric scraps and isnt that what really counts
