Cabin Fever!
Yesterday I did not want to spend another day sitting inside, albeit with airconditioning. I did not want to spend the day looking at the same four walls. So, we didn’t.
A and I packed some bags for a day trip and we headed off. I figured that 3-4 hours in an air-conditioned car was worth it to get to somewhere cooler. Our first stop was A’s mum’s house for lunch. Willow and Dexie loved seeing her. As tempting as it was to stay there, we drove further south. According to my car’s thermometer it was 42c (in the shade) when we left. As we drove, the temperature dropped, degree by degree. By the time we reached our final destination -Victor Harbour – it was a full 10c cooler, 32c.
An essential part of travelling to Victor Harbour, or any tourist town really, is stopping at ye olde lolly shop. We all chose one thing each.
By the time we got to the beach and dipped our toes in the water, I reckon it would have been about 28c-30c. That’s about 15c cooler than at home. Well worth the trip.
After we got an icecream, we headed back to the car and went to see A’s brother who lives in a town near Victor Harbour. We wanted to get to A’s mum’s for dinner, so we didn’t stop long, but it was great to see him, his wife and his daughter. Willow adored them all, of course. Dexie was shy, but came out of his shell a bit.

I took the camera but didn’t take any photos, so these are just ones I’ve found.
