Allergic?
We seem to have an issue with Willow at the moment – she has no fear of strangers. The other day after taking her to see a movie, we stopped to look in some shops. I turned my back and she’d started telling an elderly man trying on shoes, about the movie. When we were in Melbourne, she gave one of my friend’s son’s friends a big hug when we saw her at the playground. My friend had barely said hello to her and Willow went rushing over to cuddle her.
At Harbourtown she started talking to a random woman who was standing next to the ride she was on. Of course, Dexie imitates anything she does at the moment, so he ran over and started saying “digger, digger, digger!”
So I figured it was time for a chat. I said that we shouldn’t hug people if we don’t know their names. I didn’t want to say that we shouldn’t talk to them if we don’t know their names – what if she got lost one day. The next bit I struggled with – I hate to diminish her innocence so I explained that some people aren’t always nice and they don’t deserve her hugs. She looked at me and said “Are they allergic to my hugs?”
What do you say to that?!
I’ve been looking through my photos – this is her at about 2 weeks old.
She was only 2.8kg when she was born, so she looked like a skinned rabbit. Of course I thought (and still think) that she was the most beautiful thing in the world.

2.8 kg isn’t a skun rabbit, thats a decent size.
A skun rabbit look is when they weigh 740g at birth.
Even T was only 2.9kg so much for the 10 pounder one Dr said I was going to have.
I was only 2.4 kg
