Choc-o-lit Sloo-Flay

Yesterday afternoon I melted a block of Whittaker’s hazelnut chocolate in a glass souffle dish, separated some eggs, whisked the whites and beat in the yellows with the cooled chocolate. Mixed some of the whites in with the yolk/chocolate mixture, then folded the rest in gently.

It turned out ok – far lighter than a normal chocolate souffle. The hazelnuts sank to the bottom to make a dense crunchy layer. I had mine with Maggie Beer’s Dark Chocolate and Orange icecream, which was the perfect complement. A and the children had Vanilla icecream.

Just looking at the Maggie Beer website. Funnily enough, they don’t do icecream by mail order!
