Where The Wild Things Are

Posted December 19th, 2009 by candi

I have fond memories of this book from my childhood, so when I saw that it was being made into a movie, I really wanted to see it. We bought the book in preparation, so that Willow would know the general outline of the story.

Most movies made from books have to leave out a lot of the story line in order to avoid lengthy screenplays, but Spike Jonze must have done a bit more work to bulk out the story to make it movie length.

We watched it today and it was such a good movie. I think Willow really identified with the Max character, so I liked that the moral of the story was that his mother still loved him at the end. We both cried when Max sailed off, only to see Carol come down to the beach.
