Etsy!

Posted December 8th, 2009 by candi

I have this love hate relationship with Etsy. I browse through the site thinking… I could make that, if I had the time, money and equipment. I have done silversmithing before and I like to dabble in jewellery making. So when I saw this seller’s shop, I was inspired. I took apart 4 different watches to get these 6 pieces to make these earrings.

They are topped with freshwater pearls. I plan to use the leftover pearls to make some more earrings. Earrings are not easy to photograph… perhaps next time I’ll hang them on something other than my ear lobes?

It was quite interesting to see the insides of the watches. About half of the tiny pieces were metal and half were plastic, I disregarded the plastic and concentrated on finding matching metal pieces. They aren’t quite symmetrical, but I think that’s half their charm.

I should also give a special mention to Regretsy.
