On the beach!
We made a more successful trip to the beach this afternoon. This time we headed a bit further north and stopped at Largs Bay.

We waded in a tide pool and the shallow water. Dexter was more apprehensive than we’d expected – Willow was all but swimming. Except she doesn’t know how and my idea of swimming is not drowning.

Dexie liked going for a walk along the beach, he just didn’t like the water very much.

He settled down at the edge of the tidepool and threw handfuls of sand in.

It was not easy to convince him to leave the beach, but time was passing and we were getting hungry. Dinner was salt and pepper calamari, potato and pineapple fritters and chips. Not exactly healthy, but perfect beach food. As I watched a cruise ship leave the harbour for destinations unknown, the children played on the playground. A took our bags back to the car, then got icecreams. Dexie wanted my chocolate cone, but he got it all over himself. I wish I’d taken a photo.
Before we left, Willow was playing the the camera. These are two of the photos she took.
Herself.

Rani.
