Dexie’s lemon tree

Posted June 13th, 2009 by candi

As some of you may know, I planted Dexter’s placenta under a lemon tree. It survived the heat wave and despite my brown thumb, has gone on to produce fruit. There were four lemons on there the other day so this morning we went out and picked the three ripest ones.

I thought we’d make a lemon yogurt cake this morning, with the children helping. Well, Willow helped and Dexie supervised.

Cheesy grins for the camera.

Dexter wanting to help.

Dexie wanting to escape!

Dexie wanted the lemon halves after I’d juiced them, so I handed them over, expecting him to put it to his mouth and throw it on the floor, but he munched on them!

The end result. We had two stalks of rhubarb leftover, so I put them on top. You can see how much Dexie ate of the lemon!
