Canberra, my trip!

Finally, I have the headspace to sit down and write about my trip to Canberra – this time last week I was just walking back from the sports club we went to in a desperate attempt to get something to eat.
I left home in a taxi at 4.30pm, with A and two forlorn, crying […]

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson passed away on the 25th of June 2009. He was 50, born in the same year as my mother. I don’t believe in an afterlife, but if there is such a thing, surely he will find more peace there than he did here.
I was a moderate fan when I was […]

leaving on a jet plane!

Actually, I’m not sure what kind of plane it is, but I’m heading off to Canberra this afternoon for a work conference. I’m very excited about this, but equally reluctant to leave my little family behind.
I’ll be back on Tuesday afternoon, see you then!

Good, better, best.

Good - Attending a meeting in the city first thing in the morning, which means a chance to sleep in.
Better - Listening to Dr Karl on the way to my office.
Best - Driving home with Dexter, talking to him and mimicking his babbling, which cracks me up, which makes him laugh, which makes me laugh. […]

Dexie’s lemon tree

As some of you may know, I planted Dexter’s placenta under a lemon tree. It survived the heat wave and despite my brown thumb, has gone on to produce fruit. There were four lemons on there the other day so this morning we went out and picked the three ripest ones.
I thought we’d […]

The tree in the sky!

I have been in the city for training, this is the 3rd of 4 two day sessions, if that makes sense? Around the training venue, new apartment buildings are being built, so it has been interesting to see the progress over the past two months. One thing we noticed was that on top […]

I want to remember moments like this…

Taking A and the kidlets for a drive in my new car, just cruising, not going anywhere in particular. We ended up heading for the beach, driving North. We found a little fish and chip shop and got an early dinner which we ate while watching a broiling sea.
The trip home, […]

the weeks go flying past…

Sometimes I feel like the weeks go flying past, punctuated by the weekends and uni. The first semester is nearly at an end, so I’ve been busy studying and writing. Work is gaining momentum now, I have some great clients and the team is really starting to work well together. Sadly we […]

Dexie’s first haircut.

Willow had her first haircut at 4 years old, so we put off getting Dexie’s haircut for awhile. I wanted to see how it would grow, but it stayed short at the front and long at the back. He started to look like a mini-bogan and it was getting quite ratty.
This […]

more cupcakes!

Cupcakes are so popular at the moment, and why wouldn’t they be? Cute, easy to eat and fun to make, there are sooo many varieties out there. We have a plate and bottle night coming up for Willow’s party soon, so I thought I’d do cupcakes in the school colours. Tonight was […]
