Friand!
I made these raspberry friands yesterday, but I swapped the raspberries for strawberries and put some flaked almonds on top too. Being a lazy and thrifty cook, I also used 3 whole eggs instead of 6 egg whites.
Today I made a vegetable soup, which essentially involved taking an armful of vegetables – celery, onion, potato, sweet potato, broccoli, tomato, carrots, cauliflower – from the fridge, chopping and dicing them. Throwing them into some vege stock and simmering until soft. I added some garlic, chilli and sugar. That is my lunch for the next week.
I have just taken out of the oven an orange cake. I followed this recipe, but since I couldn’t follow a recipe to save my life, I added some strawberries to the oranges in the first step, used two eggs, two oranges and enough flour to make it a cake-like mix. Oh, and I baked it in a bundt tin because that was on top of the drawer when I opened it.
