Ultra slack
I have been ultra slack for not posting more often.
I present, as my excuses, finishing up summer school and work. I am crazy enough to be looking at the two subjects I need to do next semester
My friend who did the same summer school subject lamented to me about how stressful it has been for her – she only works part time and has a 4 year old and a 13 year old. An ex-husband though, not a helpful one like A. Sure, it was stressful and exhausting, working, studying and parenting – it’s a lot on my plate – but it meant that my first year is over and done with and now I can get on with my second year.
This weekend is all about getting the house back into some semblance of order. At the end of semester I tend to ignore housework, otherwise I’ll use it as an excuse to procrastinate. Hence the house looks like a bomb has hit it. If all goes to plan, I’ll be hiring a carpet cleaning machine and doing the rugs and couches.
I also have to work tomorrow for four hours and we have to catch up with friends on Sunday.
Willow started school on the 3rd of February which was very exciting. She has settled in now, childcare and FDC are a distant memory. A gets her ready in the morning then takes her to school. She hangs around with him (he works at her school) until it is time to start school when he walks her over. After school she goes to OSHC, then A picks her up at around 4:30 and they both come home together.
Her school is fantastic – the more often I go there, the more I appreciate it. If A wasn’t working there, then the children would be going to the local public school, but the opportunity to send them to his school is too good to pass up. Of course it’s not a free ride though.
Getting two children ready, then dropping them off in two different places then going to work was tiring, but now I’m finding that I miss her. I put toothpaste on my brush, then Dexie’s brush, but her brush sits in the cup, still wet from use.
