The rest of the weekend!
Apart from the date night, the rest of the weekend was quite relaxing. On Saturday morning I had my Pilates class, then the washing machine man came to fix our washing machine. $220 to fix a machine that had ony cost us $100 second hand is not too bad I guess.
We then went into the city to have a look at the Subaru Forester. I do like it, but I’m not that keen on the dashboard. Hmmm, something to consider in the future anyway. We had lunch in the city, looked around and bought a Dorothy the Dinosaur DVD for Willow to watch while A and I went out. She had her choice of any DVD in the shop – A tried to steer her away from the more annoying ones, so I think she got the best of a bad lot!
Then we needed to buy a new toilet seat, you know how they just get so bad that you can’t clean them clean enough. A decided that he wanted one with seashells embedded into it, so we went for a search in different shops. He initially wanted a padded seat, but they remind me of my time working in an institution, so the sea themed one was a compromise. I decided that I needed a new bra and dress too.
Today has been all about catching up on the washing, housework and food shopping. Also sitting outside watching the children play, cheese and crackers, ham and cheese sandwiches, chicken stirfry for dinner.
I finished a book on Von Einem. I didn’t realise that he was an accountant and that he lived so close to us. It was an interesting read, made much more personal because I know the geographical landmarks and then suburbs the writer mentions. There is a photo of the main street in North Adelaide, O’Connell St in the 1970s – it is barely recognisable compared to today!
