End of the first week.
Apologies in advance if this post is not entirely coherent, I’m tired.
First week of work has gone so quickly. Learning lots – mostly geographically. Clients are from the Southern Suburbs and I live in a North Eastern suburb and have mostly worked in the North and North East of Adelaide. I know how to get to A’s mum’s house, that’s about it!
Obviously learning lots about mental health and the recovery model. Interesting stuff, plus it’s nice to work for an organisation that respects the clients so much. Lots of working with the Mental Health team from the hospitals, which is good too.
It is a very active job, which makes me think of some former colleagues who would complain about using their social work degree to do nothing more than fill out requests for continence aides. Glad I’m not working there any more!
Got my new phone last week and my new car today. Well, it’s an electric blue 2007 Commodore, but that’s better than my 1996 Bogandore! In 2 months the lease will be up on it so I get to choose a new car. Seriously thinking Subaru Forester at the moment. It will be a 2009 model.
