Our adventure!
Well, it was an adventure to me anyway! We bought a swing set from E-Bay and organised to pick it up this afternoon. This meant that I had to borrow a trailer from a lovely friend, but I haven’t driven a car with a trailer on it for about six years!
So we went to my lovely friend’s house and spent far more time than I’d anticipated drinking coffee and talking about children. We hooked the trailer up to the car and I timidly drove off. Pulled up to the guy’s place and gave him the money, told him to keep the change. Thankfully Dexter had fallen asleep. When Willow realised what Daddy was loading into the trailer, her face lit up and she said, “Dexie, wake up, we’re getting a swing!”
Of course he was asleep, and so he stayed as I timidly drove home, as A unloaded the swing set and as we drove back to my friends house. Then he started crying because by that time it was after 8pm.
Then we did the bad parent thing and drove through Maccas for dinner. It was nearly 9pm by then, I think that’s a good enough excuse!
Now we just have to wait for A to put the swing set together…
