Cowboy and Goth Fairy

Willow had a friend’s birthday party to go to – the theme was Ariel/Under the Sea/dress up as anything you like. I had already made her a skirt from a waistband of A’s old jeans, some black tulle and lots of ribbon. I bought a sparkly black boa, pink fairy wings with spiders on them, a pink fairy wand, a new pink t-shirt, threw some black leggings on her and she was ready to go! It didn’t take long for her to lose the accoutrement so that she could run around and play. When she wanted her face painted, she asked for a ‘pink blue one’, so that’s what she got.

Dexie was a bit harder. I wanted a costume that wouldn’t be a one off, so I found a little fringed suede vest and a cowboy hat at Kmart. Both will be used again before he grows out of them! He had his face painted – first. time. ever. *sob* It was hilarious, he kept trying to eat the brush – just as the facepainter was coming at him with the brush, he’d turn his head! Poor thing was so confused! He wasn’t quite so clingy this time. The birthday girl’s mum was kind enough to hold him for about 15 minutes so that I could get something to eat. He didn’t mind being on the swing or the slide, or the little car, as long as I was still holding him!
