A and I have been checking out our old blogs on the wayback machine. Weird.

Here is a post from mine when Willow was 9 months old.

better out than in!

October 23rd, 2005

Willow is 9 months old today, so she has been out in the big bad world for as long as she was in my womb. This also means I’ve been breastfeeding for 9 months, something I see as a great accomplishment.

The past 9 months have gone so fast, but slow. Sometimes it feels like we have always had her, but other times it feels like just yesterday that I could do whatever I want, whenever I want without having to worry about another little person.

She is sooo mobile now, crawling everywhere, especially where she shouldn’t. Her favourite trick is to crawl out to the bookcase and eat Anthony’s sci-fi paperbacks. She also likes to get into the dog basket, pull on my laptop cord and get in underneath Anthony’s computer.

She also has her top 4 teeth coming through, so that has been fun!

I got to FDC a bit late the other day and she was down on the floor, which is unusual as she is usually on her carer’s hip! She saw me and started crawling towards me but there was a piece of quilt wadding in the way. She picked it up, threw it to one side and kept crawling to me! So cute!

Poor little poppet is not well at the moment, she is very chesty and snotty. I got 3 hours sleep last night and another 2 and a half this afternoon. She finds it hard to breathe through the snot, which means she can’t feed. We have dosed her up with baby Dimetapp which will dry her up and allow her to breathe.

She is such a strong willed character. If she has her mind made up to do something, it is hard to dissuade her. I took her into work the other day to see my colleagues and she charmed them all. We observed her looking at us, making sure that she had eye contact with each of us. She was well behaved and made me a very proud mummy.
