Tits and arts!
Last night I met up with my best friend form Uni, S. The opening night of the Fringe Festival was on and I was keen to go. A stayed at home with Willow and I took Dexter in. Unfortunately some bright spark though it would be a good idea to have the Clipsal 500 at the same time. Hence the crowds were simply ridiculous. The people-watching was good though!
We ended up eating at the David Jones restaurant after walking around for a bit – it was rather quiet in there compared to the restaurants along Rundle Street! I had a cheese soufflĂ© with a zucchini, walnut and rocket salad and we shared a bowl of rice balls.
It was so good to catch up with her, we always have a laugh. She doesn’t have any children, so when we go out together, she’s happy to help with Willow and Dexter. I really do adore her- we are very different people and in different places but I’d drop everything for her if she needed it, as she has done for me in the past.
As we left the restaurant, a woman approached us asking for money for a train ticket. We gave her two dollars each and expressed the sentiment that she may well spend it on drugs, but we didn’t begrudge her that choice. Then we got back into the fray, but it was too crazy, too many lit cigarettes at Dexter’s level, too many drunken idiots and the carpark I’d parked my car in was about to close. So we walked back.
S and I said our goodbyes, promised to catch up more often as we always do and I went to feed the parking meter. I was short two dollars – exactly the amount I’d given to the woman for her train ticket!
I rang S, she came back and gave me enough to get the car out. Love that woman!
