Love that man!

The other day I said something to A about stopping breastfeeding. He thought I meant in the near future and commented that he didn’t expect me to stop for at least two years. I’m so glad we are on the same page when it comes to parenting.

We had a great day today – Willow, Dexter and I met another mum at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre. Her children are both similar ages to Willow and Dexter and it turned out that we had a few things in common. We held our babes and talked while we watched our daughters play in the toddler pool. As I said to her, there are far worse ways to spend your day. We made plans to check out Nature’s Cradle in the near future. Willow slept in the car and for another hour when we got home. Dexter decided that he didn’t want to do anything but feed and be held while I stand for the next hour – not even sitting on the fitball would placate him. I have to admit that I’m looking forward to him having bigger feeds less often.

One of the things we talked about was cloth nappies. I’m really getting into this cloth nappy thing. I never thought I would, but I’m finding it strangely satisfying. It’s nice to go and hang them outside – 5 minutes of peace and a clear head. Of course, the fact that they just work with Dexter is a bonus! Huggies did not suit him at all.

Tomorrow Willow is in FDC and Dexter and I are off to Mums and Bubs yoga. It’s been ages since I did yoga, and I’m not sure how flexible I am. One of the things my friend and I talked about is how sore you get when feeding a baby. My right foot gets pins and needles from using my leg to prop Dexter up while feeding him and my right hand is sore from trying to do things one handed while holding him in my left hand. Yoga only runs for 4 weeks, so I thought I’d make the most of it.
