Where are all the good blogs?
Yesterday I was lamenting to Sam that all the good blogs seem to have disappeared since I was last blogging. Some of my favourites are still going, like Dooce, Tertia and Mimi, but there doe sseem to be a dearth of intelligent, oft-updated blogs out there. So I went for a big of a hunt and have found some interesting sewing/craft blogs.
And other blogs:
and I wasted all that birth control…
If anyone reading would like to recommend a blog, please feel free to leave a comment.
Since my laptop is in for surgery at the moment, I have been using A’s computer. His computer desk is like an archeological dig, I’m slowly going through old receipts, Willow’s hairclips, broken pens, loose change, old copies of New Scientist, and a hell of a lot of dust! He was operating on it today, but he doesn’t think it will make it through. His exact words were “Looks like I’ll have to buy you another laptop.” He can claim it as a tax deduction anyway, or salary sacrifice it – which is what he’s doing with his new laptop.
A is watching TopGear at the moment. This secretly amuses me, given that he doesn’t have his licence. Gosh we are party animals, SBS on a Saturday night is our idea of a good time!
As I said yesterday, today is the 5th anniversay of my mother’s death from a sub arachnoid hemorrhage. I have tried not to dwell on it too much today. I’ve been doing things around the house and some baking with Willow.

I thought of one, hadn’t been there in ages, but it popped into my head today, and thought you might like it.

Hi
I left a comment about this, but I think the internet ate it. But that’s alright, because given time to access the memory banks, I think I have actually mentioned that blog to you before.
I have another suggestion for finding new blogs though. If you have an account at wordpress.COM (or want to start one, which you may already have if you use akismet or anything like that for spam and needed an API key), they have a feature called ‘tag surfer’, that I wish you could get for ‘hosted wordpress installations’.In your dashboard you put in tags that you want, and it gives you a rolling sample of posts with that tag(s) … very cool. I have found some new and interesting blogs. Just like technorati or other stuff like that I guess, but you get the whole post and any pictures too, so you can read the post and then look at the blog further if you likes what you sees.
